A New Warden at Shallowford

A New Warden at Shallowford

I’m sitting at my desk fully intending to write an amusing and informative article –  but it’s far too easy to ‘lift my eyes to the quiet hills’ and watch the clouds scudding through a blue sky. The birds are …

City to Farm Sponsored Cycle 2019

Between 25-29 August 2019, up to 12 friends and supporters of Shallowford Farm and Providence House will cycle the 250 miles from Battersea to Dartmoor. The aim is to raise funds to support groups to visit the farm. The riders will also have a support team travelling with ‘spares, repairs and refreshments!’

The route is planned, accommodation booked, logo created, cycle shirts purchased (with printing logo costs donated at no cost!),  riders being recruited, back up team prepared, and fundraising plans being made.

We will be staying in church halls (at no cost!) along the route: Odiham (near Basingstoke), Salisbury, Kingsbury Episcopi (Somerset), and Bovey Tracey (Devon).

The final day’s ride to Shallowford Farm will be the toughest, as we climb to one of the high points of Dartmoor at Haytor.

Our aim is to raise £20,000. This is a huge amount of money, and so careful  planning and preparation is taking place to make it a success.  We will let you know nearer the time how you can sponsor us, but also how you can spread the word and encourage others to donate!

Thanks to Phil, Robert, Johnny and Serena who dreamed of making this a reality last Autumn – please pray the preparations continue to go well.

If you would like to support this adventure in any other way, feel free to contact Phil, Robert, Johnny or Serena.

Thank you for your support – bring on the summer, and good weather!

INITIAL SPONSORSHIP REQUEST – we aim to keep our costs to a minimum, but design of logo and purchase of cycle shirts has cost £250.00. If anyone is willing to donate some or all of these costs, please see Robert at Providence House, or Serena at Shallowford Farm. Or click the Donate button below.
