It’s going to be a tough ride.
Between 25-29 August 2019, up to 12 friends and supporters of the Shallowford Trust and Providence House Youth Club will cycle the 250 miles from Battersea to Dartmoor. We’re not asking you to get on your bike, but read on….
The aim is to raise funds to support inner city young people and families to visit the farm. East Shallowford is such an amazing experience for visitors from the Big City, the rolling hills and bleating sheep a contrast from tall blocks and busy streets.
The route is planned, accommodation booked, logo created, cycle shirts purchased, riders being recruited, back up team prepared, and fundraising plans all ready.
We will be staying in church halls (along the route: Odiham (near Basingstoke), Salisbury, Kingsbury Episcopi (Somerset), and Bovey Tracey (Devon).
The final day’s ride to Shallowford Farm will be the toughest, as we climb to one of the high points of Dartmoor at Haytor.
The riders will also have a support team travelling with spares, repairs and refreshments!
Our aim is to raise £20,000.
