We are always in need of financial support to ensure we can subsidise and reach out to young people who may not otherwise be able to afford the full cost of a day or residential visit.
Since 2019, we have been able to convert the big old Eastern Barn into accommodation for 21 people, restore the Shippen with an additional lean-to, build an Outdoor Education Barn (the Ark), build a new Corner Barn and a two lean-to on the Animal Barn. All this with additional drainage, a new composting sewerage system and improved thermal insulation.
The modern assets now a necessary part of East Shallowford Farm provide better standards and more opportunities whilst still retaining its sense of home and history. This has only been possible through the generous support of individual donations, Trusts and Foundations and the incredible input of many resourceful and hardworking volunteers.
However, there is still so much more to do! The buildings need ongoing maintenance, the regular staff and programmes need financial commitment and we are always looking for new ways to encourage and inspire more people to connect, be positively challenged, and to share in the unique legacy of Shallowford Farm.
