There are a number of ways that you can support the work here at Shallowford.
With Your Time
Volunteer help is always needed around the farm, during the group visits, fundraising, in the garden, with maintenance, during events and on the farm.
Skills required vary from cooking and painting to computer work and teaching to none at all, just a willingness to help.
With Your Prayers
Prayer support is essential to the work here. All that we do needs to be soaked in prayer if we are to realize the vision set before us. The task is too big for us to achieve it on our own.
Each week we spend time in prayer – for the work ahead, the people around us, the groups to come and those that have gone.
Each month we hold a prayer meeting here at the farm on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 pm. If you can please come. If you can’t then please pray for us anyway and if you would like a copy of any prayer guide for the month please email a request. We consistently pray for the young people who have been over the last month, those about to visit, the youth leaders at Providence House, safety, the future plans, our farm team and trustees, our neighbours and volunteers.
With Your Funds
Financial help is needed for small and large projects alike. For example:
- To bring each group to the farm, with minibuses, food and fuel
- To provide them all with wellies and waterproofs
- To buy and care for the animals safely
- To resource the activities the groups would like to do
- To support the development project
At present we have an exciting building project with an enormous financial commitment. We believe that this is what Elizabeth Braund would have wanted her legacy to be used for, to continue and expand the work that she lived for, enabling people of all ages and backgrounds but primarily the youth of inner city areas, to visit, enjoy and learn from the beautiful place that is Dartmoor. The opportunity will then be there for school groups to visit the farm and provide the sustainable income to carry the work forward.
Significant sums are needed for such a project.
Please consider supporting The Shallowford Trust financially.
