A New Warden at Shallowford

I’m sitting at my desk fully intending to write an amusing and informative article –  but it’s far too easy to ‘lift my eyes to the quiet hills’ and watch the clouds scudding through a blue sky. The birds are …

Will goes up before the Judge

Dear all, We finally got Will up before the judge! Well done to Johnny for setting in up, and who knows where it may lead. Useful too to see how relatively straightforward such an outreach exercise is. For the …

Get involved with the Family Camp, 21st – 24th August

We will need more tents. If you have a complete tent that you are prepared to loan to the farm for that week we would be most grateful – all sizes needed.

There will be about 40 of us on site for 4 days. Lots of the young people bringing their families with them for their summer holiday experience. We have a busy programme planned for them but need lots of helpful willing hands to make it happen. There is a need for every kind of skill before during and after the event. So please “read more” to see how you can help out.

Join in with the fun

Preparing the farm from Monday 14th August. This means mending, painting, cleaning, tidying, creating dining areas, moving animals, catering,…

Tent day is Saturday 19th. If you can loan a tent please let us know and ideally could you bring it to Shallowford and put it up on Saturday 19th. We will be here to help, provide, mallets and plenty of refreshments. Of course, they then need taking down afterwards.

Catering – we will be feeding about 40 each day from Monday 21st – Thursday 24th. So if you are any good at making cakes, serving food, washing up … and can spare a few hours during that week you will be very welcome.

Pack up and clear up on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th. This is always the most difficult time as we are tired and fresh hands and legs are a God send if you can help then. All the tents then need to come down too.
