A New Warden at Shallowford

I’m sitting at my desk fully intending to write an amusing and informative article –  but it’s far too easy to ‘lift my eyes to the quiet hills’ and watch the clouds scudding through a blue sky. The birds are …

Praise the Lord for New Beginnings

It is difficult to believe that the decision shared with the Trustees last September is about to be fulfilled. It is all very surreal, with only a few weeks left here at Shallowford after 5 exciting years.

It is a decision that I really believe has been blessed by God. He has quite unexpectedly delivered two amazing people with the skills that the Trust needs at this time, to take it forward into the next phase. Julia McDade will serve as the Trust Manager and Alethe Virgin will be the warden living on site.  I am totally confident that they will serve the Trust well and that you will all support them both in the same that you have supported me over the last 5 years. The work of the Trust is well set to continue and grow under Julia’s leadership.

As for Al and I, we will be moving to our family bolt hole in Dorset for some quality time together. We have met so many really special people and made some wonderful friends. Thank you for all the blessings that you have poured upon us. We will always be there supporting from the wings, visiting the farm and Providence House when we can, without interfering! Thank you.
