Current vacancies
Shallowford offers work experience placements year-round, open to anyone with an interest in farming, conservation, outdoor education, hospitality or community work. Placements are flexible and tailored to what you want to get out of them.
You might find yourself working in the kitchen garden, helping with the farm animals, supporting school and youth group visits, assisting in the kitchen, helping with events or getting involved in the day-to-day running of the farm. Often it's all of the above.
Work experience at Shallowford is part of our wider volunteering programme, so you'll be working alongside our regular volunteers and the core team, getting a genuine feel for life on a working Dartmoor farm.
A few things to note:
- Placements are available year-round but are subject to availability
- The farm is in a very remote location with no public transport so you'll need your own transport or to arrange a lift
