Shallowford welcomes a wide range of community organisations, like charities, universities, women's groups, faith groups, activity clubs and more. Groups are welcome to use the farm as a space for connection, creativity and the simple pleasure of being somewhere genuinely special. Come once, or come every week.

Some groups come for the farming experience. Others come for the space itself - the quiet valley, the Dartmoor landscape, the warmth of the farmhouse and The Ark. Many come for both.

East Shallowford Farm welcomes community groups of all kinds.

What we offer:

Our beautiful meeting and gathering space, with views across the courtyard and out toward Corndon Tor. Ideal for workshops, talks, creative sessions, training days and community events. With ample parking on site and catering available, it works as a standalone venue or as part of a wider farm experience.

The Ark

The farm

Groups can engage with the farm's activities as much or as little as they like. Join the morning animal feed, help in the kitchen garden or take part in conservation work alongside our team. There are ways to get involved at every level, whatever your group's interests or experience.

The farm's grounds, fields and surrounding Dartmoor landscape make it a wonderful setting for outdoor activities of all kinds. From gentle nature walks and birdwatching, to more active exploration of the moor, the setting speaks for itself
whatever the season.

We can arrange catering for your visit using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients in the Shallowford tradition. Alternatively, you're welcome to bring your own external caterers, who can make full use of our well-equipped kitchen facilities on site.

We've welcomed a wide variety of community groups over the years, including charities, university groups, women's organisations, birdwatching clubs and creative groups. If you're looking for a space that feels warm, purposeful and a little bit different - this might be exactly what you're looking for.
