Anita Dowman, Trustee

"This has been the biggest and most powerful experience we have ever been part of as schools."

Dave Sammels, Executive Headteacher, Mayflower Community Academy

"It's almost as if coming to this small place, it is making their world bigger."

Phil Dorman, volunteer since 1976

A week at Shallowford is not a regular school trip or activity break. It is an experience that teachers, youth workers and parents consistently describe as transformational - and the evidence backs that up.

Young people who visit Shallowford return to school more confident, more resilient and more engaged. Many discover skills and strengths they didn't know they had. Some come back as volunteers. Some come back with their own children.

The change that happens between a Monday arrival and a Friday departure is, in the words of one of our team, amazing.

THE DIFFERENCE IT MAKES

We publish regular reports on our work and impact.

Shallowford runs on the generosity of people who believe in what we do.

Every donation, partnership and volunteer hour helps us keep the gates open for the young people who need this place most.

Whether you want to give financially, bring your organisation on board as a partner, or simply roll your sleeves up and get stuck in on the farm - there is a place for you here.

And whatever you choose to give, it goes directly toward making sure more young people get to experience what you've just been reading about.
